The second iteration of this project, this design aimed to clean up and consolidate navigation, improve readability, better feature new content and resources, and improve the overall polish and look of the site.

Unfortunately, the number of steps involved in accessing these e-books called for some further explanation. This document was generally followed with the following e-reader comparison chart.

For those libraries that still have paper card applications, a lot could be done to punch these up as both practical registration forms as well as marketing material. The library card application I proposed here was two-sided. One side contains all of the information required by the library for registration, and the other side contained basic promotional information for the library’s services, locations, mission, etc.

Library card applications make the most sense living out in the community, where the promotional information can answer some of the basic questions and the work can be done to fill out the form before coming into to the library.

It’s often the case that the library computing experience does not mirror the home computing experience. In an effort to preserve the security and longevity of library computers, the desktop environment (some version of Microsoft Windows) is often stripped of most of its functionality, if not entirely. This means having to learn how to save files (among other tasks) anew.
